Update, some dried paintings and a few new ones.

I’ve not written much recently – not painted a lot either. Two reasons, first the weather turning colder means paintings take longer to dry – up to a week as compared to 24-48 days in summer, which meant I ran out of room. The shed is 10 x 12 ft, there’s only so much moving round I can do, with paintings being varnished too…..When I move I want a nice big studio 😉 Second reason is I’ve been decorating indoors, well, helping anyway, hoping to make the house attractive to buyers. You know how it is, you get used to that shabby, tired look, don’t even notice it anymore, then think – will this put people off? So…..picture painting has aken a back seat.

Still, I’ve a few updates, dry pics of the hammer smash flowers and the ones that went with it, and a few new ones from last week and weekend. I really need to get into shed to paint today, feel quite twitchy not having done any for a few days.

using up some leftover fluorescent paints and metallics.

dried hammer smash flowers, not yet varnished.
dried MDF painting from leftovers. sorry about the glare on this and next one.
dried MDF hammer smash where I forgot to level drying area…..so ended up a tilt painting 😉

I have a long thin frame so took out the print, and used it to paint on, supported by the MDf backing. Dreid up AWFUL though, bland and boring. I’d done browns and gold to match new paint in dining room but this had to be a repour. Its always worth seeing fails too though.

no real contrast or drama….
still wet, but this is the failed one now. did an icing bag pour over white. fingers crossed its drying ok, not seen it for a few days…
Same colours as above but the blue seems to show through more, or maybe its just my bad photo skills…. I covered the support in white paint, layered colours in an icing bag, cut off tip and let it run over then titled a little. Another wet painting, will show dry later.
using leftovers, another fail, been re-poured but worth showing as we’re always talking about how many don’t work out in facebook groups 😉
platiung with leftover paints and bits of runoff scraped up. I tip all leftovers and scrapings into a pot each time and when there’s enough I add some ink, or more colour and pour. ~sometimes comes out well- i like this one, and have added some glitter….but often its a mess. I got lucky here and with the next ones as the colours separated quite well and gave some interest. There was only what silicon was in paint to begin, didn’t add extra but did add some black and white to cup.
Leftovers on card for this and the next one. did a few swipes with a pale blue and got these. might do for magnets or something. I just hate wasting paint ….

couple of 3×3 ins on canvas. Leftover colours and scrapings gone too grey I think but love how i still get some interesting lines.

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
